CONNECT Madison is proud to team up with Social Media Breakfast Madison #SMBMAD, for this AMAZING EVENT during YP Week Wisconsin!

Social Media Breakfast Madison is a non-profit volunteer-run organization with a focus on social media. At their meetings they focus on networking, caffeine and education all offered for no charge. They welcome an ever-growing group of diverse professionals from a variety of industries including academic, non-profit, entrepreneurs, students, trade associations and retail businesses both big and small.

           

On April 15, SMBMAD will welcome back one of their favorite people: Social Media Breakfast Madison co-founder Wendy Soucie, who is now digital manager for Parker Hannifin in Cleveland, Ohio.

In her presentation, Wendy will talk about how her company has successfully launched its North American blog and subsequently several country blogs, all aligned around the firm’s expertise, technology expertise, and how Parker goes to market. She will share lessons learned for selecting a global enterprise blogging platform, building a virtual team, coaching subject matter experts on how to be savvy content creators, and keeping up the momentum across more than 150 divisions and 50 countries.

My real claim to fame is having been smart enough to get SMBMad going and then step out to a great group of people.
I am a certified social business strategist, national speaker, trainer and bike safety instructor. With a broad range of business experience and roles, I get engineering, sales, marketing and channel management. I have lived on both sides of the distributor fence. I enjoy helping integrate social across an organization – from product development to engineering, marketing to customer service/support, human resource management to recruiting, and sales to public relations.

My new role as Global eBusiness Social Media Manager for Parker Hannifin is pretty exciting. Prior work included founding my own consulting firm. Launching and supporting several successful social media organizations, and was a Founding Member, Alumni and Faculty at Society3 Academy.

I have been involved with business development, product marketing and Internet strategies for manufacturers, technical products and service related companies for over 30 years. My past consulting clients include Women’s International, Harley Davidson, Bucyrus Erie, Fairbanks Morse, Webster Electric, Twin Disc, Oscar Mayer – Kraft Foods, Envirex, University of Wisconsin, and Alliant Energy.
