Name: Reimagining Service Summit
Date: December 13, 2013
Time: 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM CST
Event Description:
Could your good intentions as a volunteer turn into even greater impact? The Reimagining Service Summit will bring together leaders of area businesses, nonprofits, funders, faith-based organizations and government agencies to inspire a revolution of local volunteerism under four principles: 1. Volunteerism is more effective when all sectors participate. 2. Volunteering is a core strategic function of success, not an add-on. 3. Focus volunteer engagement on true community needs rather than the supply of volunteers. 4. Well-managed volunteer programs can generate as much as three to six times the community value as the cost to manage them. But up-front and on-going financial investment is needed. Reimagining Service is a national coalition made up of businesses, non-profits, government, faith communities, and funders that aims to increase the impact of volunteers through engagement, research and funding. The event is open to the public so register now at www.unitedwaydanecounty.org/reimagine.
