One of the greatest equine events in our area will follow up their spring Midwest Horse Fair with this event in August. Taking the Reins will provide attendees with a one-of-a-kind, hands-on experience, designed to encourage participation in clinics and demonstrations. Willow Island will be new to this event and will allow for some exciting learning opportunities. Included in this event is a competition titled "Project Cowboy," where up to 250 riders will have to "demonstrate exceptional horsemanship and communication skills in never-before-seen competitions" throughout the weekend. Visit Artisan Alley or join the Chuck-Wagon Cook-off.Non-horse owners and families will also find lots to do and see. Gates open at 8am both days. Shopping hours are Fri. 9am-7pm and Sat. 9am-5pm.
