Celebrating the Best of the Blues and the food inspired by the Music
Join us at The Edgewater for our inaugural Labor Day Weekend: Feed the Blues Festival celebrating the best in blues music and the food it inspires. The celebration begins with local favorite Madtown Mannish Boys, playing music steeped in Chicago-style Blues. Next up, hailing from Columbus, MO, the BelAires, fronted by brothers Dick and Dave Pruitt on bass and electric guitars, with Michael Cherry on drums, playing a danceable mix with an authentic but eclectic bluesy-country-soul-and-rock-n-roll sound influenced by the likes of Wilson Picket, Slim Harpo, Howlin’ Wolf and Johnny Cash. Headlining the event is the Koch Marshall Trio featuring American guitarist Greg Koch, his son Dylan Koch on drums and Hammond B3 specialist Toby Lee Marshall. At the heart of this organ trio is a blues sensibility – but Koch’s compositions are an amalgam of rock, funk, jazz and country served up with heavy grooves and dynamic improvisations delivered with no small dose of humor and occasional wild abandon. Complimenting this powerful music lineup is a food and beverage offering paying tribute to the birthplace of Blues music. Stay tuned for more details!
Event is free and open to the public.
