The American Red Cross is encouraging community members to think outside the box this holiday season and give the priceless gift of life. Hospital patients in Madison and across the country will benefit from those who roll up their sleeves and donate blood at the 26th Annual American Red Cross Holiday Blood Drive. More than 16,000 pints of blood have been donated at the Holiday Blood Drive since its beginning in 1986.
All presenting donors will receive a t-shirt and can enter for a chance to win great raffle prizes while enjoying great company, local music and special refreshments. Blood donors can also bring non-perishable food items to donate to the Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin. Cash donations to Second Harvest will also be accepted.
The need for blood is constant and doesn’t pause for the holidays. When you donate blood, you give the perfect gift - another hug, another laugh, another smile, another chance - to someone in need of blood. And, unlike the latest fashion trend, video game or golf club, the perfect gift costs nothing but an hour of your time.
