Our 2017 CONNECTion event will feature keynote speaker Kevin Farley, comedian, actor, writer and director.  Born in Madison, WI, Kevin studied at the famous Second City in Chicago.  It wasn't long after that he began his career in the entertainment industry.  When Farley is not writing screenplays, producing or directing, or on set filming, he is on stage doing stand-up comedy.

We are excited to have Kevin join us at this event where he will share his story about making it in the entertainment industry.  You will not want to miss this event!  Not only will you be laughing along, you will also be learning key skills to reach your goals in any field.

About CONNECT Madison

CONNECT Madison is an exclusive young professionals group that hosts meetings on a monthly basis at a variety of unique locations around the Madison area. Our goal is to enrich the Greater Madison community by offering professional development, community engagement and relationship building opportunities to local young leaders. By creating a gathering place for these young professionals, we will make Madison a more attractive place to live, work and play.

OUR CORE GOALS:

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Each month, we present an opportunity to hear from dynamic and impactful local business leaders on topics that will help our members enhance their careers. Our members leave with a takeaway that they can implement in their day-to-day careers.

Past examples include:
• Downtown Real Estate Panel Discussion - "What's Happening on the Isthmus?"
• Monkey Business Institute - Using improv techniques for successful communication
• Pamela Christenson - MG&E's Economic Development Director & Starting Block advocate
• Women in Business Panel - Learning to Lead in a male driven workforce

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
We feel community engagement is an incredibly important aspect of being a strong leader. At each monthly meeting we highlight and learn about their mission and how we can get involved. Since inception in 2013, CONNECT Madison has provided volunteers and donations to over 30 local charities. We organize several opportunities each year to give back by being a part of a CONNECT Madison volunteer team.

Past examples include:
• The Goodman Center
• The Salvation Army
• Madison4Kids
• United Way's Days of Caring

NETWORKING
In addition to networking opportunities at each monthly meeting, we host a variety of social events to help develop and strengthen personal and professional relationships between members as well as business and community leaders.

Past examples include:
• YP Week Events - Connect Socially, Eat Locally
• Annual Golf Outing
• Speed Networking
• Madison Mallards games
