On April 9, the Chamber's annual IceBreaker returns to the floor of the Kohl Center. Featured speakers from the worlds of arts, sports and business will share powerful stories about how the moves we make today can set our region up for success now and for years to come.
Omari ‘Motion’ Carter — a screendance practitioner, hip-hop dance culture aficionado and UW–Madison professor who researches innovative dance practices — will discuss how he moves through life with intention and creativity. Laila Edwards — 2026 Olympic gold medalist, 2025 world champion and (as of last week) three-time NCAA champion Badger hockey player — will explore the relationship between motion and balance. And Nelly Kennedy — a consultant and co-CEO of Mākia Consulting who previously held C-suite and senior leadership positions at Volkswagen, Google and Condé Nast — will separate motion from commotion.
Finally, we will debut the Chamber's 2026–2028 Advocacy Agenda and explain how to keep Greater Madison moving in the right direction.
